Wings for Single Parents From Homes By Jamie Jay

Wings for Single Parents was created by Suffolk Community College alumna Jamie Weinberg ’14 to assist current SCCC college students who are single parents. During her time of study at Suffolk, Jamie herself was a single parent. She knows all too well the challenges single parents face not only with time management between familial obligations and school work but the financial stresses as well. This scholarship is focused on removing financial strain and decreasing the burden of stress from a Suffolk County resident who is the primary caregiver of one or more dependent child(ren). Scholarships funds are designated for tuition, books or related family expenses.

Jamie is a top producing Associate Broker with Realty Connect USA. In her 4 years with Realty Connect she has successfully placed hundreds of families in their dream homes while simultaneously positioning herself as a pillar of knowledge and support in her community. In the community where she resides, Jamie has assisted numerous residents with selling and purchasing their homes. She has become heavily sought after for her expertise of the area. The trust she has gained with the community members has increased her popularity over time. To many she is not only a successful realtor but a beloved member of their own families. She is always a phone call or short walk away to lend advice, a helping hand or her delicious homemade chicken cutlets to any neighbor in need. She exemplifies what it is not only to be a dependable and friendly neighbor but a loving and devoted friend to all.

Above all else, Jamie’s most sacred duty is raising her two daughters. To all who know her it is apparent that motherhood is her sole motivation to all that she does. Jamie often describes her daughters as her “why” she works tirelessly to be all that she is to her clients and community. For both of her daughters, Jamie strives to be an example of an independent and hardworking single mother who dedicates herself to all she does. While providing for her daughters she also looks to instill core values that will live on through them when they are grown and pursue careers of their own. Jamie always reminds her them not only to work hard and lend help wherever they go, but to always have a positive impact on all those they encounter by changing them or improving their situation for the better. Without a doubt, Jamie’s legacy will certainly live on through both of her daughters.
