Diverse and Non-Traditional Students Scholarship

This scholarship was created to support diversity among the students of Suffolk County Community College and to cultivate a collegial campus culture focused on inclusion, equity, diversity and academic excellence.
Awarded to: Full-time or Part-time students, College-wide
Award: $1,000 (split between fall and spring semesters)
Number of Awards Available: 2

Criteria:
1. Must have a 3.2 GPA for 24 credits
2. Be enrolled in a STEM-related program (science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computer science, nursing or health sciences)
3. One letter of recommendation from a current Professor or Counselor at SCCC
4. Preference given to non-traditional students. Non-traditional students are those students who may have delayed enrollment to college due to family/work responsibilities, may have dependents other than a spouse, may be a single parent, and/or did not finish high school.
5. An additional essay describing your career goals as well as how this scholarship will help you meet your financial needs.
