Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) Community College Scholarship
This scholarship aims to provide graduating high school students with the opportunity to become part of our
region’s emerging clean energy economy. It is an exciting time to enter this industry, with many different career
paths and possibilities. As New York transitions away from fossil fuels and towards a carbon-free grid, the
demand for skilled workers in this sector will continue to increase.
Beginning fall 2023, the LIPA Community College Scholarship Program is open to income-eligible high school graduates who reside
in a disadvantaged community, where electric service is provided by LIPA. This scholarship is for full-time tuition, fees, and a $500 book stipend each semester.
Scholarship recipients must enroll full-time in an eligible associate degree course of study or certificate program from Suffolk County Community College, and maintain a 3.0 GPA.
