Margaret Krumholz '79 Scholarship

Awarded to: NEW Full-time students
Award: Up to $3250 (one award for tuition only)
This scholarship is renewable for an additional three semesters as long as student maintains full-time enrollment and a minimum 3.5 GPA. Total scholarship award cannot exceed $13,000.

Criteria:
1. Enrolled in Liberal Arts and Sciences (General Studies), Accounting, English, Human Services, Journalism, Political Science or Philosophy
2. High school GPA of 90 or above
3. Must maintain a college GPA of 3.5 and full-time enrollment
4. Student must have a commitment to community service in Suffolk County and beyond. To demonstrate this commitment, student must submit a letter of recommendation from the organization where the student has volunteered.
5. Student must submit an essay that addresses the following points:
1) Reveals your commitment to completing an AA or AAS degree and continuing toward a baccalaureate degree;
2) Describe an awareness of the underrepresentation of marginalized groups in the workforce (e.g., women, people of color, indigenous communities, people living with a disability, people experiencing financial hardship, etc.);
3) Address your individual financial need;
4) Describe your understanding of the ethical considerations that guide life’s decision-making.
·6. Preference is given to first generation college students from underserved communities in Suffolk County and have encountered financial hurdles. Please describe in your Personal Statement if applicable.
