National Science Foundation I-Success Scholarship Program for CONTINUING Students
The National Science Foundation I-SUCCESS Program at Suffolk County Community College provides a unique educational enrichment environment for students pursuing careers in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. In addition to financial support, I-SUCCESS scholars are supported by a team of highly recognized faculty mentors and advisors. I-SUCCESS scholars have access to:
• Individual academic counseling and mentoring
• Individual one-on-one tutoring
• Internship opportunities and assistance
• Transition programs for graduates continuing their education at four-year institutions
• Advanced skills workshops and educational seminars
• Collaborations with faculty and peers at Brookhaven National Laboratory and Stony Brook University
• Students accepted into the program will meet and work with their STEM peers on campus
Awarded to: Full-time or Part-time CONTINUING students
Award: varies depending financial eligibility. This scholarship is awarded in the SPRING semester as well as the FALL semester. Application deadline for the spring semester awards is DECEMBER 31st. The fall semester awards have an application deadline of MAY 30th. The fall semester applications will be available beginning January.
1. Student must be in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) program which include: biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, geology, meteorology, computer science, information technology, construction/architecture technology, engineering, or cyber security
2. Take at least six credits
3. GPA 2.7 or above
4. Submit one letter of recommendation from a professor, teacher, or counselor with direct knowledge of your ability and who can speak to your commitment to your chosen degree path. Please share this request with the professor you choose as a reference.
5. In order to receive the scholarship, students must file a FAFSA and demonstrate financial need based on Pell eligibility and/or documented family income of less than or equal to 50% of the median regional HUD fair market rent/income limits
6. Be a citizen of the United States, permanent resident or refugee
