Barbara C. Harris Scholar's Program For Truth and Reparations Scholarship

The objective of the Barbara C. Harris Scholar’s Program is to provide financial support to Black, African American, and Caribbean American descendants of slaves who are seeking continuing advancement through higher education or vocational training.

Awarded to: Full-time or Part-time students
Award: $5000 (one time award)

Criteria:
1. Be of Black, African American or Caribbean American descent and be a direct descendent of African People who were enslaved in the United States or the Caribbean
2. Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
3. Reside within the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island: Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau or Suffolk Counties
4. Submit a completed application form
5. Forward an official copy of your Suffolk transcript to the address on the application
6. Submit two letters of recommendation from a Counselor, employer, or faculty member
